Paul & Sinead {Wedding}

Avianto I first met up with Paul & Sinead during their engagement shoot (in case you missed it, here it is), and I was thoroughly warned that a big party awaits us... I was not disappointed!  But before I get to the party, let's start with how beautiful everything looked; from the decor that had wisps of pink and ivory combined with silver and black, to Sinead in her ivory dress.  Everything was in it's place, except when I walked into the bridal suite... There I found a flurry of girls in varying stages of getting ready, and Sinead sitting amidst it all, looking calm and in control, busy getting her hair done. While I spent some time with Sinead, my second shooter (a.k.a my husband Jay) was busy having fun with the groom and his best men, and we met up again at the ceremony.  Even[...]

Hannes & Adri {Wedding}

Moon & SixpenceWhen I arrived at Moon & Sixpence, a very calm and relaxed Hannes met me at the door and I was amazed at how calm he looked.  The girls however were in various stages of getting ready, and in the middle of the chaos, I found Adri sitting quietly busy getting her make up done - it looked like she too was the queen of calm, which is always a good sign for any photographer!  The girls were done well in advance and we had some time to get a few bridal portraits done as well as some family photos, before the big walk down the aisle was set to start.  Seeing the look on Hannes's face when he first saw Adri was a great joy to behold, and throughout the ceremony I could see the love flowing out of these two.During the couple shoot, we had an unfortunate accident which left m[...]

Ralph & Leigh {Wedding}

Usambara I have the world of respect for Ralph and Leigh, and I know if you guys were aware of all the things happening behind the scenes while these two were busy planning their wedding, you would do too!  I'm talking about a venue demolition just weeks prior to their big day, and to top it off, a sick pastor the night before their wedding...  Yet when I got to Bakenveld House where Leigh was getting ready, she didn't show any signs of stress, and I was super proud of her for that.  You guys were champs throughout the day, keeping calm when everything went wrong and still managed to enjoy your big day and remember what it was all about.  After years of photographing weddings, I can normally tell which couple will past the test of time, and I know you guys will stick together for ever hav[...]

Gary & Mia {Wedding}

Die Akker I arrived at Die Akker on a lovely Autumn afternoon to find friends and family busy decorating the hall and making the decor... Now what you need to know about Mia, is that she is crazy about Disney stuff, so their decor incorporated characters from various animated shows, and this fairytale venue complimented the theme in every way possible.  As you walk through their gardens, you almost expect to see little pixies peeking out from beneath the green leaves; it really is magical. Mia was amidst the chaos busy directing people on how everything should look, stress levels were high and in came Gary...  All relaxed and smiling.  If I had to describe this couple, I would say that Mia is the kind of girl that you would know about when she walks into the room with her fire red hair[...]

JJ & Jaclyn {Wedding}

Aroma Café Last year I sponsored a wedding package in association with The Wedding Expo and Woman and Home Magazine, and this couple was the lucky winners on the package.  I met up with JJ and Jaclyn 2 days before their wedding, and listened in amazement as they told me how they met (those who know them, you seriously need to hear the story, it's quite hilarious!) - after hearing their story I just knew that these two can get through anything, and their love for each other was clearly visible to all. I woke up the Friday before their wedding and felt like a bus had hit me, my muscles ached and my head was killing me...  I stayed in bed most of the day hoping to shake whatever bug was busy working it's way through my body.  Saturday was one of the longest and most difficult days I ever [...]

Second Shooter - Darren & Tarrynn {Wedding}

Imperfect Perfection On 15th of March I had the privilege to second shoot for Henriette from Howling Moon Photography (a fantastic photographer), so naturally you can imagine how excited I was when the opportunity came along!  Not only is Henriette a fantastic photographer, she is also a kind and gentle person and I can truly say that we had a ball!  I want to thank Henriette for just being awesome! Ps, did I mention how great Henriette is?? ;) Now, a bit more about the wedding: We arrived at Imperfect Perfection to find a beautifully decorated hall where every little detail was pure perfection!  I loved the decor! Tarrynn did a beautiful job it putting together her colour scheme and the venue just complimented that in every way possible.  Tarrynn wore a beautiful gown that transformed h[...]

Graeme & Chantel {Wedding}

Avianto I met Graeme & Chantel for the first time on their wedding day - Valentine's Day - and what a glorious day it was!  The weather played along nicely and I love the unique features that they brought to their big day; Chantel's dress was something completely different, and together with the shoes (which by the way was hand painted by a very talented guy called Alastair Magee) formed a beautiful picture and a delight to photograph. Chantel and Graeme were both very nervous while getting ready, but the relief was clear when they stood in front of the altar and the only thing that I could see, was their love for each other.  Their bridal party (or shall I call them bodyguards as there were so many groomsmen!) made for some great laughs and the couple shoot was a breeze!  The even[...]

Faheem & Nureen {Wedding}

Cradle of Life, Badplaas We arrived on Saturday night before the wedding at the beautiful Cradle of Life, and decided to wake up early the next morning to go on one of the game drive since we rarely get the chance... We were so amazed at the range of wild life and the rehabilitation programs that they've got in place for all the animals, it truly was amazing to hear and see so many wild animals close up.  After such an amazing experience there was was no doubt in our minds that the wedding was going to be equally beautiful. This was our first time photographing a muslim wedding, and thus the reason for this very short blog post as the clients requested that we only show specific photos that they've chosen for religious purposes.  First off, this was a big affair (about 600 guests in to[...]

Pieter & Ria {Wedding}

Makiti Pieter and Ria couldn't have prayed for a more perfect day, the sun was shining and we had a lovely sunset that gave the perfect light for their couple shoot.  Ria was super organised, which was a pleasure for me as it ensured that we had enough time to do the various photos that she wanted done. They got married in the NG church in Krugersdorp-North, and had a lovely reception filled with laughter and dance at Makiti.  I loved Ria's dress, such a beautiful creation and I could see the effect it had on Pieter when she walked down the aisle for the first time.  The tenderness in Pieter's eyes whenever he looked at Ria throughout the day made it clear to me that this is a match made in heaven.  May you guys only know love and happiness in the future to come! Enjoy! [...]
